Biomimetic Scientific Stations

The Biomimetic Sciences Institute launches the Network of Scientific Stations project, creating facilities for innovation and research in strategic natural spaces around the world, together with the best experts and professionals in the scientific field.

The objective is to develop innovation in alliances with companies, academics, scientists, researchers, and traditional knowledge.

All this from a scientific, public and private perspective, in order to know, investigate, protect, regenerate and revalue ecosystems.

The scientific stations will be highly technical, and will have digital twins, containers for all the data collected, which will be available for processing using artificial intelligence and other state-of-the-art methods.

Presentation proposal International Network of Scientific Stations

The Biomimetic Sciences Institute launches the first scientific station in the Galapagos Islands with the mayor's office of San Cristóbal in Ecuador.

  • The start-up of the first scientific station of the network that the foundation has programmed is constituted.
  • The network aims to conduct research in various disciplines such as marine biology, biotechnology, and climate change, as in the case of the Galapagos Islands.

Collaboration agreement for the launch of the first international scientific station of the network, scheduled. This network will have world-class strategic spaces dedicated to the study of climate change, located in the Galapagos Islands, the Colombian Amazon, Brazil, Barcelona, Costa Rica and Bolivia, among others.

The agreement materialized on October 21 of this year, with the collaboration of Miguel A. Mosquera Briones, representative in the Galapagos Islands of the Biomimetic Sciences Institute, chaired by Pere Monràs and directed by Carmen Sanfrancisco, who is also organizing the world symposium on biomimicry, in which the scientific stations project will be presented during the year 2023.
